The objective of the entire exhaust system, as with the manifolds, is to eliminate the residual gases burned in the combustion chamber, since this will affect the performance of the engine. It is simply a question of maximizing the speed and efficiency of the evacuation of gases.

The silencer system plays an important role in this task, at the same time that it subtracts noise from the waves caused by the gases leaving the combustion chamber.
